Audio Blog - SOTU Response in Spanish? - 2/8

Play MP3

If you don't like the idea of both English and Spanish versions of Marco Rubio's State of the Union Address response...

  1. Great essay, agree wholeheartedly with everything.
Always think that conservative groups like the Tea Party should do a full-court press on ethnic minorities, and demonstrate to them that limited government, low taxes for all and free-market solutions are best not just for 1% but also and especially for the middle and lower classes.
And by contrast, that joining forces with the progressive-egalitarian crusade is self-defeating.

  2. I agree 100%. People forget that GWB used to give his weekly addresses in Spanish all the time (and then have mono-lingual liberal cutouts call him an idiot). My only gripe: English is NOT this country's national language. I couldn't be wrong, but I don't know of any federal law that requires all official government interaction to be in English. In fact, there are many laws to the contrary. I go back and forth on whether this is a Good Thing or not, but there is a Good Thing I'm sure of, and that is Marco Rubio. Having him deliver the response in Spanish is brilliant.
